Q: It’s January and I’m freaking out. I didn’t do anything with my business numbers last year. Where do I begin?
A: Start with taking a breath and giving yourself grace, there is no place for self judgement here. It will do you no good at this time.
Here’s my advice:
- If you are not on an accounting system and ready to hop on board (those of you who know me, know how I feel about this being really important). You can get it set up and start it from January of last year. If you are not ready do this by yourself, grab my complementary Cash Flow Confidence™ Projections Template to fill in all of your revenue and expenses.
- Gather all your 2025 bank and credit card statements for your business. Use the spreadsheet to categorize your revenue and expenses into the appropriate category, and vola!
- Take a moment to feel about how you want to feel about next year. Do you want to feel pressured? Or have your numbers organized throughout the year for smooth sailing.
